Ladies Christmas Tea Party

On Saturday, December 13th, our church held a Christmas tea party for all ladies and girls. They enjoyed lots of cookies, tea, coffee and spiced cider and had a fun time decorating ginger bread cookie houses together. At the end, all ladies took home the leftover cookies to share with their families.

ESI or SOL?

This is the story of the last time my employer, ESI, will screw me over.
On the 5th of November I had a vacation planned, which I had requested the time off for three months prior. Before I left, on the evening of the 4th, I faxed all of my paperwork to Tim. I sent it to him instead of Steve because I had been informed (by both Steve and Tim) earlier that day that Steve was no longer working for ESI. Included in the paperwork that I sent over was a reimbursement request for the remainder of money I had put out for the month of October and not yet been paid back for. It also included my monthly allowances for the month of November.
The Monday after I came home from vacation, November 10, I talked to Tim on the phone. I asked him if my check had been sent out and he said, "yes, that check has already been sent out."

On Tuesday I got a call from Tim telling me that Steve had been writing checks from the company account after he had resigned. He said he had dated the checks before he resigned, but that he "could tell what day they were actually written." I asked him how he could tell something like that and he said it was because of the day the funds came out of his account. Everybody knows that when you write a check it doesn't come out of your acount the very same day! He then told me he had to close the account so no more checks would go through. I asked him about the check that he had "sent" me, and if it was going to bounce. He said "it isn't going to bounce; we don't bounce checks. It is only going to come back as account closed." So I then asked him about the direct deposit that was scheduled for Friday morning, November 14. That was supposed to be my wages for the two weeks from October 25 to November 7. I had 30 hours from the first week and 17.75 from the second. I get a 30 hour minimum per week, but I was on vacation for half of the second week.

Tim assured me that everyone would still get paid, but that he was going to have to open a new account and then he would send everybody their checks. He also said he would resend my reimburesement check "later." Keep in mind it has now been two weeks since I requested reimbursement.

I got a call from Phil, one of the Illinois employees, later that night who told me he heard the account was closed but Tim had written him a check out of it that afternoon. He couldn't have opened a new account that day because it was Veterans Day and banks were closed. Either he was lying to me about having closed the account or he knowingly gave Phil a bad check.

The next day, Wednesday, I got a call from Tim saying there was some paperwork Connie needed me to resend. Connie, Tim's secretary, also called requesting a couple of work orders and an invoice record Steve had passed along to me when he left the company. Thursday afternoon Tim called me asking me why I hadn't sent Connie that paperwork. Meanwhile the reimbursement check he had "already sent out" NEVER arrived and I was given no timeline for when I would be receiving the money from the direct deposit that wasn't going to happen. Subtracting out the November allowances (because obviously I do not want to keep working for such a crooked company) and any gas money I spent the first few days of November, ESI owes me 1232.56. When Tim asked me where the paperwork was I asked him when he would be sending out a check. He said he would pay me, with no difinitive answer as to when. I then told him I couldn't do any more work for him, paperwork included, until I had been paid what I was already owed. I also told him that unfortunately I couldn't just take him at his word that he would pay what he owes me and do more work because he had already lied to me about sending the reimbursement check. He then denied ever saying he had sent that out, then a few minutes later changed his story to "I wasn't the one who sent it, but to my knowledge it had been sent out."

He then told me that if I "wanted to play hard ball like Steve" and not do any more paperwork for him he wasn't going to send my check at all. I told him that if he was going to make that choice I would have to go to the Labor Board. He said he didn't care and wouldn't send me a dime until I sent all the paperwork he needed and hung up. He called back ten minutes later with an offer to send me the wages I was owed, but not the reimbursements "as a compromise." I told him I wasn't willing to compromise on the amount that was due to me and I wasn't doing his paperwork until I had received my payment in full. He argued a bit and finally agreed that if I faxed over my time sheets he would overnight me the full amount, and I agreed that when I received those funds I would forward on the paperwork he wants.

The next morning, Friday, Tim called me questioning some of the office hours on my time sheet from the week I had 30 hours. He said he wasn't paying me those hours unless I could prove that I worked all of them. I explained to him that I was entitled to a 30 hour minimum for that week and the office hours were tasks given to me by Steve, my supervisor at the time, to fill up the 30 hours so I wouldn't be paid to do nothing. I told him if he didn't believe those office hours were justified that was fine, but that he still had to pay me the same amount because of my 30 hour minimum agreement. He said, "Ok fine!" and hung up. It is now Sunday and I still haven't received the check. Connie told Steve yesterday that she put the check in an envelope and left it on Tim's desk when she left the office Friday afternoon.

I received a voice mail from Tim Foley today (12-17-08) stating that he would be contesting my unemployment.

On 11-17-08 I received my last paycheck from ESI. It was wired into my account due to Tim stating that he closed the company account. I was supposed to have received this money on 11-14-08 for the pay period 10-25-08 thru 11-7-08.

On 11-28-08 I spoke with Tim wanting to know why I hadn't received my paycheck. He stated to me that there was no longer any work, and that I need to find another job. Even though I had been on call for the previous two weeks he stated he would not be paying me. The last week I actually was sent out on a job was the week ending 11-7-08. Since I was on an on call basis I didn't realize and was not told that I no longer had a job until the conversation I had with Tim on 11-28-08.

There was also another incident of money that was owed to me for work expenses. On 11-8-08 I received a check for $674.27 for work expenses. On 11-18-08 these funds were removed from my account due to a stop pay on the check. On 11-21-08 I received a replacement check for $638.27. This was not for the full amount owed due to Tim deducting an overnight fee, even though the error was his fault and the money was way overdue. He still had me pay for the overnight charge.

Even though I have not worked since the week ending 11-7-08 I did not start receiving my unemployment benefits until the week ending 12-12-08. This was due to the fact that I was not able to get my unemployment filed right away because I was not informed that I didn't have a job until I didn't receive my paycheck on 11-28-08.

Chili Cook-off

Our 3rd Annual Chili Cook-off was held on Friday, October 31st. The winners were:

1st place - Virginia; prize: $50 gift certificate for Honeybaked Ham

2nd place - Mrs. Edwards; prize: Taste of Home cook book

3rd place - David Jr.; prize: Taste of Home cooking magazine



In all, a total of 9 different chilis had been entered, and they were all good.

Small-town soulwinning marathon in Miami, AZ

On Saturday, November 8th, our church held a small-town soulwinning marathon in Miami, AZ. If you are not sure what that is, please listen to the sermon "Preaching the Gospel to Every Village", preached by Pastor Anderson on April 27, 2008. In all, we had 25 people of our church come out to Miami with us, which is about an hour and a half drive from Phoenix. We went soul-winning in Miami from 9:30 AM until 6:30 PM and saw a total of 26 people saved.

How my job with ESI ended

Friday, October 31, 2008 Payday – my direct deposited paycheck did not go in: I didn’t receive the 2 weeks of pay that were due for the pay period from 10/13 -10/24.

Friday, October 31, 2008 10:23 am (IL time) – I received a phone call from the owner of the company, Tim Foley, stating that my direct deposited pay did not go in that morning because he wasn’t sure that there would have been enough money in the account to cover it. I told him that he should have warned me and not called me after the fact to tell me that I didn’t get paid. He told me to write a check to myself and deposit only 1 week of pay (10/13-10/18 i.e. 40 hours) and to wait until next week to write myself another check and deposit the 2^nd week of pay (10/20-10/24 i.e. 41 hours). He told me to call him next week before I deposited the 2^nd check to make sure there was enough money to cover it.

I was unable to deposit the first check until Saturday, November 1, because I was out of town in New Mexico when I received the phone call.

Monday, November 3, 2008 1:34pm (IL time) – I received a phone call from Tim in which he told me that I was no longer allowed to use the company credit card for my expenses. He told me that I needed to put all my expenses on my own credit card (at least several hundred dollars a week), and that the company would reimburse me on a weekly basis. I refused to do so, especially in light of the fact that I hadn’t even received my wages! Why would I lay out my own money hoping to be reimbursed when I hadn’t even been paid?!

Tim would not budge, and I was not willing to finance his company any further, so I told him that if I was being forced to lay out my own money, I would look for another job. He said, “Well, that’s up to you. Let me know when you’ve made your final decision. I said, “I just did.”

Note: According to Tim, the company’s cash flow problems were due to mismanagement of 2 major projects in Illinois (“Elgin” and “Naperville”). I offered shortly before this all happened to slow down and take some unpaid time off in order to let the company catch up financially, but I was told by Tim, “No, no, no…full speed ahead! The next paycheck was the one that he didn’t put in because the money wasn’t there.

Monday, November 3, 2008 later in the day – I already had written the check for the 41 hours I worked between 10/20 and 10/24, but I wrote myself another check for the 55 hours I had worked between 10/25 and 11/3. This way I was paid up for the hours I had already worked before any of this happened.

Tuesday, November 4, 2008 7:15 am – I kept an appointment I had already made to do an elevator inspection because it was too late for me to cancel it, and I believed it was the right thing to do to keep the appointment and not leave the other parties involved in the inspection hanging. I have not been paid for the hours I worked on that morning, and I probably never will be paid for those hours.

I officially resigned at the end of the day Tuesday, November 4, 2008.

Thursday and Friday, November 6&7, 2008 – I mailed all my completed work orders, my company checkbook, and my company credit card to the Illinois office. I also passed on my invoicing information to Lisa.

Tuesday, November 11, 2008, midday – Lisa called me and told me that she was told that by Tim that he had closed ESI’s bank account because I was still writing checks off the account even after I had resigned (this was a lie). Lisa was told that the check he had already mailed her to reimburse her for her expenses was no good because it would be returned “account closed.” Lisa could not get a straight answer from Tim on when he would send her a new check from a new account or how in the world her direct deposited wages would go in this coming Friday (Nov 14) if the account has been closed. He said that he would open a new account, but he couldn’t give her a straight answer on when she would be reimbursed and paid. Another employee, Amy, is in a similar situation.

Apostasy in the Local Church

We are not attacking the local church; we are only attacking the hereticks that have crept in unawares (Jude 4):

I. One of the false doctrines taught is demonism and (fallen) angels coming down and having sexual relations with mankind. Children which were born of this relationship supposedly became mighty men and giants. These are all totally false doctrines that have no basis in scripture.

Born-again Christians believe strictly in the scripture: the Gospel (I Cor 15), obedience (I Sam 15), separation (Rom 16:17,18), soul-winning (Prov 11:30), and speaking out against false prophets (Isa 58:1; 56:10, 11).

Christians believe in Titus 3:9-11. We felt it necessary to expose these false doctrines. This is written only to show the heresies which are taught to deceive the hearts of the simple.

II. Angels are spirits:

Heb 1:7 And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire.

Heb 1:14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?

III. There is no reproduction between men and spirits:

John 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

Natural birth is of the blood, not of the spirit:

John 1:13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

Luk 24:39 Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.

Eph 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

No spirit is ever called flesh.

IV. Reproduction is of flesh, blood, and bone.

Lev 17:11a For the life of the flesh is in the blood: (also Gen 9:4-6 and Deut 12:23).

There is not one word of scripture about a child being born of an angel. Eve is the mother of all living (Gen 3:20); Adam is the father of all living (Gen 5). We of course do not tamper with the virgin birth or the doctrine of redemption taught in Gen 3:15.

V. These filthy dreamers (Jude 8-13) teach that man comes from other than Adam. They teach that other than God's creation, there is evolution and man being created by angels. Man has "seed," not the woman.

VI. No angel was ever called a son of God, let alone fallen angels!

Heb 1:5 For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son? The term "sons of God" always refers to born again Christians or to the Lord himself. Born-again Christians are called "sons of God."

Joh 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

1Jn 3:1 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
1Jn 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

Rom 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

Rom 8:16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
Rom 8:17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

Gal 3:26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.

Gal 4:6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.
Gal 4:7 Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.

1Jn 3:8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
1Jn 3:9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
1Jn 3:10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.

Seth's descendants were called the children of Jehovah (the godly line).

Gen 4:26 And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name Enos: then began men to call upon the name of the LORD.

If you check you will notice that most of the giants were the offspring of Ham: Zuzims, Imims, Philistines (such as Goliath), Rephaims (2 Sam 1\5:18-25). These are all called giants (Gen 14:5).

They were also all the enemies of Israel which God said to destroy including the Amelekites which were also descendants of Ham (I Sam 15). These were all after the flood and born of man and called giants and evil men. They were born of man, not angels. Not one reference to angels in their genaeology (Titus 3:9-11).

VIII. The scripture in Genesis 6, as in every other place, is speaking about breaking down the separation between children of God and unbelievers. There are 18 references to man doing evil and where they are called "sons of God." The pastors of local churches have brought in hereticks and commentaries that break down separation. They teach that Jude 8-19 is talking about angels and not man. It is clearly talking about the false prophets and false teachers spoken of in Jude 4. They are teaching that angels are teachers. Angels do not speak to us or teach us. This teaching is Mormonism, Masonry, Demonism, Lifestyle Evangelism, and salvation by works.

Gen 6:1 And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them,
Gen 6:2 That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.
Gen 6:3 And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.
Gen 6:4 There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.
Gen 6:5 And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
Gen 6:6 And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.
Gen 6:7 And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.
Gen 6:8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.

Apostasy in the Local Church

We are not attacking the local church; we are only attacking the hereticks that have crept in unawares (Jude 4):

I. One of the false doctrines taught is demonism and (fallen) angels coming down and having sexual relations with mankind. Children which were born of this relationship supposedly became mighty men and giants. These are all totally false doctrines that have no basis in scripture.

Born-again Christians believe strictly in the scripture: the Gospel (I Cor 15), obedience (I Sam 15), separation (Rom 16:17,18), soul-winning (Prov 11:30), and speaking out against false prophets (Isa 58:1; 56:10, 11).

Christians believe in Titus 3:9-11. We felt it necessary to expose these false doctrines. This is written only to show the heresies which are taught to deceive the hearts of the simple.

II. Angels are spirits:

Heb 1:7 And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire.

Heb 1:14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?

III. There is no reproduction between men and spirits:

John 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

Natural birth is of the blood, not of the spirit:

John 1:13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

Luk 24:39 Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.

Eph 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

No spirit is ever called flesh.

IV. Reproduction is of flesh, blood, and bone.

Lev 17:11a For the life of the flesh is in the blood: (also Gen 9:4-6 and Deut 12:23).

There is not one word of scripture about a child being born of an angel. Eve is the mother of all living (Gen 3:20); Adam is the father of all living (Gen 5). We of course do not tamper with the virgin birth or the doctrine of redemption taught in Gen 3:15.

V. These filthy dreamers (Jude 8-13) teach that man comes from other than Adam. They teach that other than God's creation, there is evolution and man being created by angels. Man has "seed," not the woman.

VI. No angel was ever called a son of God, let alone fallen angels!

Heb 1:5 For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son? The term "sons of God" always refers to born again Christians or to the Lord himself. Born-again Christians are called "sons of God."

Joh 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

1Jn 3:1 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
1Jn 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

Rom 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

Rom 8:16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
Rom 8:17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

Gal 3:26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.

Gal 4:6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.
Gal 4:7 Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.

1Jn 3:8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
1Jn 3:9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
1Jn 3:10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.

Seth's descendants were called the children of Jehovah (the godly line).

Gen 4:26 And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name Enos: then began men to call upon the name of the LORD.
